10% cobalt operation

In 2018, even before starting my training, I was looking to practice decorations and easily produce finished pieces (I had neither a kiln nor a wheel) so that I could make some progress.

So I got some cobalt oxide, which creates, applied in simple oxide juice, a bright blue decoration that is quite beautiful and easy to obtain.
In the months that followed, I learned in what appalling conditions the metal was mined.

While my activity allowed me to train for the formulation and manufacture of my glazes, I used my oxide from the same small pot I had purchased that day ; until recently.

The pieces I currently produce do not contain cobalt, however I still have some from previous collections, and the possibility of using my remaining oxide, for orders for example.

I then approached the Friends of the Congo association, in order to propose a contribution initiative and participate in making the local fights to change the conditions of extraction of the oxide visible.

Over the initial sale price, I therefore add 10% which is paid half by the customer and half by me and is entirely donated to the plaintiffs in a trial which pits them against the giants Apple and Tesla in the case of dangerous extractions and using child labor, resulting in the death of minors. There is also talk of forced labor, inhumane conditions, underpaid exploitation, failures at all levels, for advanced technology companies that turn over billions, help themselves, and leave behind poverty and desolation.

Having been invited by the association to continue using my cobalt to make it an information instrument, I will manufacture blue-decorated pieces until I have no more of this oxide.

The share paid is calculated as follows:

ex: initial price of a piece 20e x 10% = 2e -> total price = 21e -> 1e for the customer, 1e for me: 2e paid.
